Venus Williams, one of the legends of the game, finally stepped onto the court at the ongoing Miami Open with the hope of revamping her career. Having not played in any professional tournaments since the US Open last year, the American legend made her way to the latter part of the Sunshine Double. But little did she know, a special guest made an appearance, and it was not her sister!
In her first-round match against Diana Shnaider, the WTA duo was met with a feline surprise guest. In a recent set of events, a cat became the main highlight of the show and took away the spotlight.

It was the second set and Venus Williams, who had lost the first set with the score line of 6-3 was leading the second set 2-1 when something unusual happened. As Venus served, a cat appeared out of the blue, running across the court! This stunned everyone and eventually the match had to be stopped momentarily. The audience was stunned and the commentators, like the rest of us, couldn’t stop chuckling.

However, shortly after, the cat made its way out of the court and the match was successfully resumed. But the end of the match was not as the American superstar had expected. Despite her efforts, Williams could not make her way into the second round as she suffered a straight-set defeat from her opponent. The final scoreline of the match ended 6-3, 6-3 in favor of Shnaider.

Despite the loss, Venus got full backing from the stands from her biggest support system, Serena Williams, who made her way to the tennis courts for the first time after giving birth to Adira.

In a match that many expected to go Venus’ way, it was the other way around. But this did not stop Serena Williams from cheering for her sister. Interestingly, the 23-time grand slam winner made her way to the court for the first time in a while after giving birth to her second daughter, Adira River Ohanian.
