With her powerful serves and groundstrokes, Serena Williams amassed 23 single Grand Slam titles during her remarkable journey on the tour. But among her many achievements, the former tennis star’s triumph at the 2017 Australian Open stands out, as she won the major title while she was pregnant with her first child, Olympia. Reminiscing about her rare ‘tennis mom’ feat, the American tennis icon recently opened up about how her daughter was quite ‘surprised’ when she found out about the same.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE Magazine, the ‘Queen of the Court’ was asked if there were any stories or memories from her illustrious competitive journey that she had started telling her daughters. Williams answered, “Yeah, Olympia’s now at an age where she’s like, ‘Listen, I am wondering, why are you so famous?’ She was like, ‘You’re a great tennis player.’ And so I told her the other day that she actually was in my belly when I won a big tournament [the 2017 Australian Open] and she was surprised.”
