Now, the WTA players will once again square off at the clay courts of the Madrid Open. However, it looks like the Belarusian tennis player hasn’t forgotten about her heartbreaking defeat against Iga Świątek.
During the press conference in Madrid, Sabalenka was asked about her mindset ahead of their head-2-head. She stated, “Yeah, I really want to have this revenge. I think I would just play with more passion. I wouldn’t rush things. Yeah, I would just go one more time, try better, and fight for this title.”
Later, the reigning Australian Open champion acknowledged their intense rivalry has been building over the past two seasons.
