Coco Gauff rose to prominence just at the age of 15 when she beat Venus Williams at Wimbledon in 2019. She is one of the players who has been active in both singles and doubles tournaments and has shown consistency over the past couple of seasons to climb up the rankings. Recently, in an interview with actor Joshua Bassett, she spoke about her interest and aspirations.

Coco Gauff as a fan of Jaden Smith
Coco, along with tennis, has balanced her life along with other interests as well. In a one-on-one chat with Joshua Bassett, she was asked about her top 5 Spotify artists. She said, “I believe my number one was Jaden Smith and then SZA, Giveon and the last one was J.Cole.” She also talked about her interests aside from tennis. The 18-year-old said, “Definitely want to get into fashion and try to get into more street-style wear.”

Apart from fashion, she also spoke about creating an impact on the world. She said, “Beyond that, leaving an impact on the world, I don’t wanna be known as just a tennis player. I wanna be known as someone who inspired, someone to wake up and feeling proud of themselves”. She has continued to aspire many young girls around the world to be better by sheer persistence.

The player considers the Williams sisters as her role models. Gauff hopes to contribute to the sport and the world in the same manner. Going on the same line, she had trained in Patrick Mouratoglou’s academy. Patrick has been the coach of top-seeded player Serena Williams for almost a decade now. The American teenager has tremendous potential and there is no doubt that the player will continue to rise in the sport and earn a name for herself.

Gauff’s career
Gauff came into the limelight when she won the 2018 French Open Girls’ Single title. She turned pro in 2018. The young player has proved her potential many times. She has defeated top tennis players like Venus Williams and Naomi Osaka. The player, along with her partner Caty McNally, reached the finals of the US Open and won the singles and doubles title in Parma last year.
