Not only has tennis returned to the corridors of Canada, but so has some of its absolute best. 21-year-old Canadian sensation, Bianca Andreescu made her return to the court at the National Bank Open 2021. However, before getting in on the action, she engaged in some friendly shenanigans off-court. Answering one too many quirky questions, giving fans the banter they enjoy, Bianca recently revealed how she would love to have Serena Williams as her fashion consultant.

The rivalry between Bianca Andreescu and Serena Williams dates back to the astonishing 2019 US Open final. Then, even younger, Bianca played emphatically to defeat the 23-time Grand Slam champion. Regardless, setting aside memories of the past, she picked Serena to be her hypothetical fashion consultant.
Serena for the win
Appearing in a cheeky bit ahead of her appearance at the Montreal event, Bianca answered a few questions for fans and followers. From dating tips to weird thoughts during the game, the 21-year-old Canadian had all to offer. However, it was her take on the American legend that made the most buzz.
When asked about a player she would like to hire as her fashion guru, she said, “Uhh, good question. I’d say, Johanna Konta or Serena Williams.”

However, it wasn’t long until the defending champion began her campaign on-court. Aiming for a chance into the third round, she faced qualifier Harriet Dart and went all guns blazing.

Emphatic return from Bianca Andreescu
Ever since her shocking exit from the 2021 Wimbledon Championship, fans have been on the edge, waiting for the youngster to make a prolific return. Safe to say, long due, but totally worth it, she did just that. Bianca put on an immensely dominating performance against her British counterpart, despite the game going to a decider set. Fans loved every bit of the action, as they gave their homegirl a roaring welcome.

Reflecting upon the game, Bianca also appreciated the support from the fans. She said, “I heard the love, I felt the love, and it is super awesome to be back. For sure, it was definitely a good icebreaker, I had a lot going on and you know I’m going to practice tomorrow. Hopefully, I can bounce back and get it done in two sets.”

The entertainer she is, Bianca was reminded of her history with three sets at the 2019 Toronto tournament. However, doing it for the fans, she said, “I had to do it for the crowd, it was super entertaining.”

Continuing her dream return, the Canadian youngster will be back in action tomorrow. Undoubtedly, a title would be the ideal way to commemorate her return. However, with the likes of some greats in the game gracing the Canadian courts, bagging any feat will be one tough accomplishment.
