Serena Williams recently played her last match. The 40-year-old retired after her third-round loss in the US Open 2022. Williams left behind some fond memories of her brilliance on the court. While fans around the globe know how great she was on the court, the 40-year-old was an equally great entertainer off the court as well.

Serena Williams was away from tennis for a long time before making her comeback at Wimbledon this year. Meanwhile, she kept engaging with her fans and did various fun activities online. One such activity was her take on the body dance challenge.
Serena takes the body dance challenge
A choreographed music video from artist Megan Thee Stallion by the name ‘Body‘ quickly became popular for its catchy lyrics and dance moves. Soon a trend started on TikTok where people tried the dance and posted their own music videos online. Serena Williams also didn’t take long to embrace the trend and posted a video of herself showing off some of her dance moves.
However, unlike others, Serena Williams had a unique twist to it. The former world number one did the moves while practicing on the tennis court. The video surely does look amazing and has been well appreciated by fans.
Serena Williams was a game changer: Roger Federer
After Serena Williams announced her retirement, 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer was quick to follow. The 41-year-old played his last tennis match at the Laver Cup. Both Williams and Federer are undoubtedly icons of the game and legends well known beyond their sport. They not only changed the game but also brought more popularity to tennis.

When Serena Williams retired, Roger Federer lauded the 40-year-old for an amazing career. He further praised the American, calling her the game changer for women’s tennis. Federer pointed out that Williams brought the power game to the women’s game, which brought a change in the way women’s tennis was looked at.

Federer also called himself and Williams the bridge between the old and new generations of tennis. Having played in three different decades, both have fans across the generations and have transitioned their games over the years.
