Following her gracious 3-decade long career, Venus Williams today enjoys a level of stardom that not many players get to. The player is one of the most loved athletes in the sporting world. Keeping her unreal aura in mind, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that getting to interview Venus Williams is a lifetime opportunity for a journalist.

An awkward moment with Venus Williams
Yesterday, the 9th of May, the entire sporting world had their eyes on the city of Miami. Reason? The city was hosting its first ever F1 event. The attendees had the who’s who of the sporting world. Amongst the attendees was Venus Williams. She was attending the event along with her sister Serena Williams.
The two sisters received the heartiest welcome at the event. Entering the venue, the two indulged in a walk-through media session. They interacted with a number of journalists and analysts. However, it was Venus’s interaction with Martin Brundle that caught the limelight.
Martin Brundle is a former British racer. Having retired from the sport, he handled the F1 coverage of ITV Sport from 1997 to 2008. After working with the organization for 11 years, he shifted to BBC for 2 years before finally joining Sky Sports in 2012.
Interacting with Venus, he asked her about the F1 event taking place in Miami. Venus started expressing her views on the event but soon left the answer in between to wave a hi to someone. Forgetting the question, she asked Martin to repeat the question. However, by the time Martin could say anything more, Venus moved ahead, leaving Martin in one of the most awkward moments. Trying to cover up the awkwardness, he turned his back towards the camera, getting off it with a laugh.
