Serena Williams, the 23-time Grand Slam champion, has always received unconditional love and support from her fans, owing to both her on-court achievements and her marvelous attitude outside tennis. However, nothing can compete with the satisfaction of proving herself in front of her daughter.

Williams, who made a comeback in the hard courts of Canada after an early exit at Wimbledon, had the best cheerleaders for her. She played in the presence of her husband Alexis Ohanian and daughter Olympia. The former world no.1 outplayed her opponent in the first round. However, what caught people’s attention was the post-match celebration.

Serena Williams and Olympia celebrate her win

Monday was no less than a feast for tennis fans around the world. As Serena finally showcased a glimpse of her prior self and had a solid start in the National Bank Open. Further, in addition to that, she also treated her fans with a heartwarming celebration with her four-year-old.

Alexis Ohanian shared a clip of Olympia and Williams, executing multiple daps and captioned it, “Let’s go! Serena Williams back at it with a W and the important post-match-Olympia-dap-celebration.” 

The former world no.1 got the better of Spanish tennis professional and former world no.45 Nuria Parrizas-Diaz in straight sets of 6-3, 6-4.

Now Williams will look forward to securing a position in the last 16 of the tournament by winning the round of 32. She currently is competing to secure her fourth Canada Masters trophy with the last one coming in the year 2013.

Potential threats to Williams’ run

Williams is all set to battle it out for her first trophy of the season. However, the seven times Wimbledon champion has just crossed the first hurdle, but the intensity will increase with every round.

Williams’ draw includes the current world no.1 Iga Swiatek and the former World no.1 Naomi Osaka. Speaking of Swiatek, she hasn’t lost any hard court match and executed a monstrous winning streak of 37 matches this season.
