Maria Sharapova retired from the sport in the year 2020 and is now focusing on her business and personal life. The Russian tennis ace’s brand, Sugarpova, is touching new heights and some of her investments are delivering huge profits.

Further, in the case of her personal life, there is an adorable new addition. Sharapova welcomed her son Theodore in July, who has, understandably, taken up most of her time these days. However, maintaining her fitness levels during this time isn’t a problem for the five times Grand Slam champion.

Maria Sharapova restarts training

Sharapova is all set to return to her old fitness regime with the help of the home-based gym system, Tonal. Speaking of which, she recently shared a clip of herself breaking a sweat on the instructions of a Tonal expert. She took to Instagram and wrote, “Through pregnancy, several lockdowns, and when free time is simply hard to come by (right about now). With the tap of a screen and the click of a button, I’ve had a full strength training workout right at my fingertips with Tonal.”

“Currently easing my way back to workouts with coach Tony Horton. You’ll laugh, challenge yourself and be really sore the next day,” she added. The tennis star became an investor of Tonal in 2021 after analyzing the profits and growth of the company in the fitness sector.

Further, Sharapova is soon to tie the knot with Alexander Gilkes, a British millionaire and an art entrepreneur. She and Gilkes made their relationship public in 2018 and got engaged in December 2020.

Sharapova, after leaving Russia at a very young age, had only one goal, which was to excel in the sport and engrave her name on it. The 35-year-old and her father struggled with many hardships, such as lack of financial support and training facilities. Prompting them to leave their country in search of greener pastures.

The Russian debuted in 2000 and in an era dominated by the 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams, she not only claimed the crown of World no.1 but also held it for a total of 21 weeks.
