The Pol didn’t give the American a respite in the match, as she dominated right from the first point. However, a funny incident happened during the match, which even got a reaction from the chair umpire.
Iga Swiatek forgets to get back on the court after winning a game
As Swiatek was dominating her American opponent, she had a lighthearted moment on the court. After winning the first set and the first game of the second set, she forgot about the quick changeover and sat down in her place to have a drink.
Then, the chair umpire reminded her of the quick changeover. After realizing her mistake, she hilariously hurried back to the court. This incident made the chair umpire laugh, and the commentators also burst into laughter.

Swiatek continues winning
The world no.1 was the overwhelming favorite before the start of this particular Grand Slam, as most current and former players picked her to win the French Open. Currently, she’s on a 30-match winning streak, which started at the Qatar Open. With today’s win, she became just the fourth player in this century to win 30-plus matches on the tour.

Also, she has won five consecutive tournaments and is eying her 6th at Roland Garros. In the next round, she will play Danka Kovinic, the Montenegrin tennis player, who beat the 25th seed, Ludmilla Samsonova, in the first round. Kovinic could pose a challenge for Swiatek, but any player will find it difficult to defeat the world no.1 at the moment.
