The 23-time Grand Slam champion started the tournament on a high by winning against Danka Kovinic and Anett Kontaveit in the first two rounds. But come the third round, she eventually went down to Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia with a score of 5-7, 7-6, 1-6. Recently, Hollywood star Jamie Foxx shared an adorable video of Serena Williams and thanked her.

James Foxx took to Instagram and posted a video about Serena’s retirement on his Instagram account. The video features the Oscar winner performing a song for Serena called “Can I be your Tennis ball.”. He posted the video by saying, “Epic moment!! This particular video was in reference to the video back in 2003, when actor Jamie Foxx was hosting the ESPY awards. At that time, Serena Williams was a rising star, and he had sung a song for her.

Is there a chance of a comeback?

Most recently, Serena made an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show. She was asked by Fallon if she could pull a Tom Brady during their conversation. In response, Serena didn’t talk much about herself and laughed it off by saying that Brady started an amazing trend. Notably, Brady reversed his retirement from the NFL after the previous season and is now preparing for the upcoming season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Previously, Serena had expressed her love for the Australian summer, most notably during the US Open. Now, with Serena’s recent comments about Brady, it has only fueled fan speculation that she will return in next year’s Australian Open.

Not to mention, she needs just one more Grand Slam victory to tie Margaret Court’s record of 24. So, one needs to just wait and see what’s going to unfold in the coming times.
