The chair umpire went to inquire about Victoria Azarenka
Even though Azarenka was known to be emotional on a tennis court, it was rare of her to break down in tears. Elena Rybakina, from the other side of the court, also felt that there was something wrong.
Speaking on this incident, the conversation went as follows, “Do you need help?” The umpire asked to which Azarenka only replied, “I’m sorry.” “I was just checking that she was okay,” the umpire told Rybakina.
“Okay, but is this normal?” Rybakina reportedly questioned. “No, it’s not normal. It’s the first time this has happened.”
Over the past couple of weeks, there have been disturbing incidents taking place in the world. Reflecting on them, Victoria revealed that she was taken aback and hurt by what’s surrounding her. After the match, the Belarusian also deleted her social media accounts.
Not the best start to the season
Coming to tennis, Azarenka began the season in Adelaide and reached the quarterfinal before losing to Iga Swiatek. Post that, she was seen at the Australian Open, where she lost in the fourth round.

She suffered unfortunate results in Dubai and Doha. This week, she ended her stint at the Indian Wells after losing in the second round. While Azarenka is yet to talk about her break down, it could very well be a physical injury that bothered her as she was seen strapping her shoulder against Rybakina.
