Even off the court, Venus Williams holds our attention. Sidelined since a knee injury at Wimbledon 2023, and following her last match at the Miami Open in March 2024, she’s kept a low profile. Yet, whispers of her return are growing. Despite her current WTA ranking of 975, retirement remains a distant concept, especially with Serena’s unwavering support. As she once said, “My little sister, Serena, told me I’m not allowed to quit, and of course, I would never quit.” On top of that, her recent Instagram posts hint at intense practice sessions, fueling speculation. While a comeback date remains elusive, it’s clear: Venus’s connection to tennis is far from severed.
Recently, Venus appeared alongside Adrien Brody at Lacoste’s Paris Fashion Week event at Roland Garros. She stunned in an all-green ensemble alongside Taylor Zakhar Perez. With Paris Fashion Week taking over the city, Williams attended the Lacoste Fall RTW 2025 show. Although she missed the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, she was on the grounds of another prestigious tennis event. Now, Venus is serving up serious tennis looks on the court!
On March 14, she posted an Instagram photo wearing a stunning white Lacoste tennis kit. Seated on a bench, she captioned it, “Almost the weekend 🤍” If you didn’t know, Venus joined the Lacoste family in 2022 and has been part of several campaigns, including the “Go Big Campaign” in 2024 and the “Play Big” campaign with Novak Djokovic. Even though she’s not actively promoting the brand during tournaments, she’s still dazzling!

Interestingly, Venus was offered a wildcard for the 2025 Indian Wells Open but declined. She cited prior commitments and being overseas during the tournament. She also found the public announcement amusing, as she learned about it at the same time as everyone else. Despite loving Indian Wells, her existing commitments took priority.
Venus continues to prove she’s “not done with the racket yet,” as she noted in an interview with The Irish News in October 2024. In the meantime, she’s been busy attending various fashion events across the globe. Most recently, she gained traction for her stunning look at the Dior Spring/Summer 2025 Couture Show. Moreover, she believes that “tennis core” will remain alive for a long time!

Venus Williams is among the powerhouse names fronting Lacoste’s vibrant “Play Big” campaign last year, which reimagines classic silhouettes with a fresh twist. Alongside fellow tennis legend Novak Djokovic and stars like Pierre Niney, Ahn Hyo-seop, Wang Yibo, and Jeon Somi, Venus embodies the grandeur of the iconic crocodile. In a chat with Harper’s Bazaar in May 2024, Venus shared her thoughts on the tenniscore trend, which has been gaining momentum thanks in part to films like ‘Challengers’ starring Zendaya. When asked about the trend, Venus said, “Tennis never goes out of style—it’s always trending! I’ve always loved seeing people embracing tennis-core and incorporating it into everyday style in their own unique way. Tennis has long been at the intersection of sports and fashion, and Lacoste was one of those pioneers who helped elevate sports-chic looks.”

Additionally, Williams is a pioneer in blending sporty and chic fashion. She often wears outfits that reflect the tenniscore trend. Her collaboration with Lacoste, the Lacoste x EleVen by Venus Williams collection, showcases this style. The collection features pleated skirts, nylon tracksuits, and striped polos. These elements embody the essence of tenniscore, combining sportiness with fashion.
