7-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams didn’t have a great start to the 2021 tennis season. Although she showed some fighting spirit, she lost in the second round of the Australian Open 2021 in straight sets. What was really surprising was that Venus could only win a single game in the entire match.
Besides being a great tennis player, Venus Williams has also established herself as a successful entrepreneur over the years. Today, she runs an interior designing firm called ‘V Starr’ which has worked on many projects. Her company recently built the beautiful home of Serena Williams.
In a recent podcast, Venus revealed how being an athlete helped her become an entrepreneur. She believes that as a tennis player she learned many things on the court that helped her become a good businesswoman.

“I don’t really think that I really really realize that until you start getting more into management. You start to realize, oh okay well, the things I’m trying to build with my team… are the things that I learned on the court,” said the elder Williams’ sister.
Williams claimed that she was able to push herself into the business world because of her keen interest in management. In her earlier interviews, she has claimed on numerous occasions that it was her father who backed her consistently when she had newly started her business.

Venus Williams feels that sports teach one how to handle a lot of pressure
The American legend highlighted that it was really important for everyone to take up a sport. She said that she learned to handle a lot of pressure while playing tennis, and this really helped her to become a businesswoman.

“You learn to deal with so much pressure that, and the things that you learn from it, everything you need in business. So, I recommend every person to play a sport to challenge themselves physically, whether you are a young person or any age, it’s extremely important,” concluded the former World No. 1.
Venus Williams is surely excelling in life as a successful entrepreneur. As far as tennis is concerned, age is definitely not on her side right now. She is 40 at the moment and can bid goodbye to the sport at any moment. Will Venus be able to win a title in 2021?
