Venus Williams, just like her sister Serena, is quite the inspiration to all generations, but especially young players who have grown up watching her play. She has motivated many to continue and fight through their failures. One such fan of hers recently had an opportunity to ask her a question that will probably change their life.

In an interview, a student from Trinity University got a golden chance to ask Venus Williams how to combat naysayers in real life and come back stronger. Venus Williams responded with a strong thought process that works even outside the sport.

In a recent series of events a student from Trinity University, Elodie Richards got a chance to talk to Venus Williams and ask any questions they might have. The 7x Grand Slam champ’s advice was to be polite, yet firm. “You can politely tell them, I can’t have that kind of feedback. You have to be deliberate in training your mind in how you want to think. So, before you get out on the court, spend five minutes by yourself … close your eyes, visualize what you’d like to accomplish, and see it happen in your head.”

Her advice is something that even people outside the sport can take inspiration from because it works there too. Having a strong mindset is as important as physical fitness in a sport like this and we are sure this advice will help her fans.

Venus Williams is not the only one who has imparted words of wisdom to fans to fight their critics. In the past Serena Williams also shared how people had different opinions of her and one has to develop a tendency of not caring to go through it.
