A 14-year-old Venus almost defeated then ranked world number 2 Vicario.

Notably, after her debut win against fellow American Shaun Stafford Venus was up against the famous Spaniard who had won the French Open and US Open the same year. Where the American teenager surprised everyone by winning the first set. However, the world number 2 ranked opponent turned the match in second and third sets.
The 50 years old tennis star is back in news again, surprisingly it’s not because of tennis this time. Recently, the former world number 1 has been accused of Fraudulent operations to avoid paying a debt and could be facing a jail term of up to four years.
Arantxa Sanchez Vicario is in legal trouble
The former world number 1 is in serious legal trouble. As she is accused of fraudulent operations to avoid paying a debt. Also, according to the reports, she is facing a four-year jail term as the Barcelona prosecutors requested the same for the former tennis star. As per the allegation by prosecutors, the former tennis player was acting on her husband’s instructions and moved her assets to avoid paying a debt to the Banque de Luxembourg.
Notably, the bank claims an amount running in millions of euros since 2010.
