TopCourt, on its official Instagram handle, shared a video of Venus Williams, wherein she talks about the desire to become perfect. She gave an example from her life, saying, “It’s very natural to want to be perfect and everything to be perfect when you go into it but by the time Monday hits, everything is per..per..per. And you have to go and say, ‘I have actually trained very hard for this,’ and being human, there’s going to be a few errors.”
“Go into this match knowing that having confidence in yourself, you can overcome anything that may come your way and say you’ve prepared and don’t worry about perfect because wanting to be perfect can be very tight,” she went on to add.

She said, “I had strong role models in my parents—especially my mom. She always said, ‘Don’t ever let anyone tell you what to wear.’ The same went for anyone telling you how to feel and how to think; I had a great opportunity growing up to embrace that.”
