Fans continue to enjoy the non-stop tennis action, flooding from the gates of Toronto and Cincinnati. However, as future stars lineup to play out some of their best tennis possible, helpless fans point out the absence of a few greats. Notably, one of the many to miss out is former World No. 1, Venus Williams. Although, bringing aid to fans worldwide, she often makes regular appearances off-court, courtesy of her social media.

Regardless of being away from the sport for a while now, Venus continues to entertain and educate her fans. Taking to her Instagram recently, she shared an insightful workout session, showcasing her sublime fitness, even at the age of 41. Notably, fans were in awe of her flexibility and thorough fitness knowledge that she shared with such generosity.
Ever since her exit from the 2021 Wimbledon Championship, Venus Williams has been on a sabbatical of sorts. However, in a recent appearance on her social media, she documented her workout sessions, leaving fans in ‘splits’, the literal flexible kind.
Wellness with Venus
Appearing in her regular “5 o’clock Tuesday’s” was coach Venus, sharing her fitness regime with her followers. It thrilled fans to see the 41-year-old in the shape of a lifetime. Undoubtedly, not just her fitness, but her knowledge of the craft, courtesy of her decorated career in the sport, was on display as well.
In the 36-minute long IGTV video, coach Venus broke down workouts that target different muscle groups. Not just verbally, but she physically performed these exercises, urging viewers to get in on the action with her. Overall covering a glute and abs burnout, the coach’s workout included a glute-bridge section, a clamshell section, and a closing core burnout filled with bicycle crunches, hollow holds, and Pilates 100s.

Venus further explained the importance of activating and awakening these muscles, before putting them to work. “That’s why we’re doing some of these functional exercises — even though they burn! We challenge these muscles and then the muscles will thank us later.”
When will Venus Williams return?
Despite the level of fitness both Venus and her sister Serena Williams maintain, injuries have riddled their career in recent times. Both sisters failed to record a decent score at the 2021 Wimbledon Championship, their last competitive outing.

However, even as fans put the past behind and looked forward to their appearance at the National Bank Open and Western and Southern Open, fans had to settle for disappointment yet again.

The American duo recently withdrew from the Cincinnati tournament, citing injury concerns. However, no specific reason was mentioned for Venus’s withdrawal. Although, fans speculate her decision is a precautionary move ahead of the US Open.

Regardless, their future remains uncertain, as both fail to provide a time stamp on their return. Will they recover in time to play on their home soil or will another tournament bite the bust?
