Earlier, the American tennis legend provided good news to the fans as she announced her singles return at the Rogers Cup in Toronto. Now, it seems like, she will make her singles return much earlier than mentioned earlier.
Venus Williams will make her singles return before the Rogers Cup
In recent news, Venus Williams announced her return at the Citi Open in Washington DC. Incidentally, this tournament will take place before the Rogers Cup, on 30th July.

Earlier, the 42-year-old tennis player announced her entry at the Rogers Cup after receiving a wild card. Notably, the Rogers Cup will take place will take place on 7th August, after the end of the Citi Open.
Notably, Venus played a singles match on the tour last year at the Chicago Open. Almost a year later, Venus is making her comeback in singles, which made the fans pretty excited.
Venus did not have a successful return to the Wimbledon Championships
Before the start of the Wimbledon Championships, Venus Williams decided not to take part in the tournament. However, after watching her sister, Serena, make her comeback in the singles competition, Venus was inspired to play her own comeback to her favorite grand slam tournament. She decided to play in the mixed doubles category with Andy Murray’s brother Jamie Murray.

Unfortunately, the pair did not go far in the tournament, as their journey ended in the round of 16. Despite the loss, the couple of matches gave Venus the confidence to make her singles comeback. Notably, Serena Williams has used her protected ranking to get entry at the Rogers Cup earlier. As mentioned earlier, Venus will play the Rogers Cup after the Citi Open.
Meanwhile, fans are already dreaming about a potential match-up between the two Williams Sisters in Toronto. Moreover, they will most likely play in the US Open as well, where they could possibly face each other as well.
