Despite an incredible run until the Australian Open 2021 semifinals, Serena Williams failed to clinch her 24 Grand Slam title. She lost to 2019 champion Naomi Osaka in straight sets 3-6, 4-6. However, the 39-year-old inspired everyone with her perpetual passion for the sport. And athletes from other sports also congratulated her for the same.
Similarly, Patrick Mouratoglou, coach of Serena Williams, penned down a motivational message for the 23-time Grand Slam champion.

“Will stands by your side”: Mouratoglou to Serena Williams
Since 2012, the French coach has been an integral part of Serena’s success on the women’s tour. With incomparable achievements, they also have seen many losses together.
Considering that the American won her last Major in 2017, Patrick knows how big the semifinal loss is for her. But he is also sure that the end is not anywhere near.
In an attempt to cheer her up, he shared a quote about champions with Serena’s exit picture. “A champion is not defined by their wins, but by how they recover from their losses,” Patrick wrote.
Furthermore, he promised to continue his journey with her until she achieves the ultimate prize. Along with that, he also wished Naomi Osaka for the Australian Open 2021 final against Jennifer Brady.
“I know you will try over and over again, Serena, and I will stand by your side until you are proud of what you have achieved. Congratulations to Naomi and best of luck in the final,” he added.
