Venus and Serena Williams’ Father ‘King’ Richard Still Going Strong at 82 as He Gives Unflinching Attention During Elder Daughter’s Practice

The place that Venus Williams and Serena Williams have reached in their life is because of the compiled efforts of the sisters and also their father Richard Williams. At an early age he supported them and pushed them and gave them the best resources he could so the sisters could achieve what they have in their lives.

Even now despite his old age, he continues to be a part of the Williams sisters’ lives, be it professional or personal. Just recently Venus Williams shared how he continues to attend her matches despite his age.

Venus Williams talks about her dad still making it to her matches

In a recent social media story on her official Instagram account, Venus Williams shared a video in which she was playing on the court for practice and her dad was sitting on the court at a bench and rooting for her and sort of coaching her.

Along with the video she added, “Dad is still going strong. He doesn’t always go to the practices (I can’t always get him to come) but when he does it’s epic. This was the end of a two-minute rally.”

She also shared another story right after that stating, “The beginning of that rally. You can see pups is all over every detail.” Venus Williams not only highlighted that her father is watching her play but also emphasized the fact that he is continuing to notice every little thing just like he used to do before as their mentor and coach.

It is not just Venus Williams who misses her dad being on court with her. But her former childhood coach, Rick Macci also talked about how he and King Richard created history on court.

Rick Macci posted a couple of months ago how he and King Richard partnered together to train and mentor the Williams sisters duo and the rest is history. He added, “King Richard and Rick teamed up and it was a mystery, the dynamic duo changed history.”

He also posted about the time when Richard Williams and he used to discuss how the duo should handle their serves and even when they would disagree with one another, it would always be in a fun mode and they would tackle such situations very casually and calmly.
