Along with that, she wrote, “Amamzing!!!!” and “Ahhhhhhhh!!!!” praising the teenage star for her hard work, which resulted in ending a 24-year-old drought for American tennis. In addition, she also tagged the star of the last Grand Slam tournament of the year.

Nevertheless, the sixth-ranked tennis player became the first American teenager to win the US Open women’s singles title since Idol Williams did the same in 1999. In between the matches, no other American tennis player was able to achieve victory in the same corner.

Not only that, the 19-year-old tennis player, after winning the title, addressed how Serena and Venus Williams were the reason behind her US Open victory.

When Gauff credited Williams’ sisters for her US Open triumph

During the post-match press conference after the US Open Championship match, Gauff addressed how the iconic sister duo allowed her to believe in her dream. Along with that, she highlighted that while she was growing up, there were not many black tennis players dominating the sport. She added, “It was just them at the time that I can remember, and obviously more came because of their legacy. It made the dream more believable.”
