Is Naomi Osaka's fashion sense redefining tennis culture, or is it just hype?

Naomi Osaka is the perfect example of “you win some, you lose some.” While the tennis fraternity had a lot of hope for the WTA star, Osaka ended her run at the American slam rather early. Despite this unexpected setback, the Japanese WTA star took the world by storm with her fashion sense. Blending her style with her cultural statement, Osaka’s 2024 US Open outfit left her followers starry-eyed, including former legend Chris Evert, who left her precious compliment with the crowd whispering admiration for the player.

Osaka has found a large fanbase for her chic look in the American Slam. Sponsored by Nike and designed by Yoon Ahn, She donned a dress where her shirt had a big silk bow on its back, and her ruffled skirt was highlighted with a comparatively small bow at the back. Not only that, but Osaka’s Nike sneakers also featured two cute little bows on the ankles of both. Needless to say, this Japanese WTA star’s outfit reflected her bubbly yet fierce personality on the court.

Evert, delighted by Osaka’s 2024 US Open look, dropped a compliment for the WTA star. “I like the dress… it suits her, it suits the Japanese culture,” said the American legend.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Evert showed concerns over Osaka’s performance.I know she has the game, but it takes more than the game. It takes a lot of confidence and a lot of focus. We’ll see. She’s in a different part of her life right now where it seems she’s so calm and she’s so relaxed and happy and peaceful, said Evert.
