She said, “They were two totally different cancers unrelated to the first one. I’m trying to figure out … am I that lucky or that unlucky? Physically, it’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. I almost get PTSD when I come to New York (because) several weeks of treatment were here.”
She also discussed how her stay in New York during her cancer treatment journey caused her to experience mental stress at the same time, which in turn added to her physical suffering. Along with that, she also talked about her screening days. When she literally realized she was just unlucky to deal with so many cancers. Subsequently, she also urged women to take care of themselves like they do for everyone else.
Nevertheless, the Czech-American former player also talked about one of the biggest factors that helped her get through cancer treatment. Her best friend, Chris Evert, who has also fought cancer, was a constant support during Martina’s journey.
