She hasn’t claimed a victory by herself and has incurred multiple opening-round defeats. However, even so, Williams is keeping calm and, with a will to make a stronger comeback, is working on her game. Here’s what she said about her future plans.
Venus Williams about working hard for a comeback
Williams recently uploaded a YouTube video sharing vital updates about her life and career. While speaking about her game, she confessed, “I love tennis and I would like to play again. I’ll let you know when exactly when, but I’ve been honestly hitting the court a lot.”
Thereafter she disclosed, “Right after that doubles match that we played at the US Open, I immediately booked a court the next day and I went to every single practice in New York.”
“That’s been a lot of fun and I’ve been working a lot of things. Mainly my forehand,….. my serve, ……..and I’ve been working on slicing……. Umm volleys too,” she added. Venus teamed up with her younger sisters Serena to compete in the doubles of the home-based Grand Slam for one last time as the latter declared retirement.
They have claimed a total of 14 majors titles together. Therefore, the match was historic. However, as both were out of form, they failed to get past their opening-round opponents. Further, that was Venus’ last appearance since then, she hasn’t taken part in any event.
