The 2020 Tokyo Olympics has been making headlines ever since its grand inaugural last week. However, even as athletes take to the courts of Japan, it was news from America that took the internet by storm. World-famous entertainment company Warner Bros recently released the breathtaking trailer of ‘King Richard’; A biopic of Richard Williams, father of the great Serena Williams and Venus Williams.

The movie captures the true story of Richard Williams, who spent a major part of his life training the William sisters. It highlights the struggles and battles he faced to make sure they had the career they deserved. Already excited, fans were sent over the moon as the incredible Will Smith perfectly dons the character of Richard.
King Richard
The gripping trailer is an insight into the lives of the Williams. It covers their journey from the streets of Crompton to their way up the ranks. Undoubtedly, it takes several emotional twists, addressing the limitations and setbacks they faced, especially issues of race and color.
It highlights the grit and determination of a then young Richard, who believed his daughters could do the impossible. With 29 Grand Slam titles between the two, safe to say, Richard was right.
As Warner Bros. announced the release of this epic creation on Twitter, they sent fans into a frenzy. With outpouring love, impatient fans couldn’t contain their excitement anymore and took to the comments ecstatically. While some suggested a possible Oscar Nominee, some demanded they already released the film.

The trailer itself catches Richard’s unbelievable passion for his daughters that could never be credited enough. He began coaching the duo at the mere age of 5 and has not stopped mentoring them ever since.

Recently, a newly emerged video had fans bawling their eyes out. Following her 2021 Wimbledon Championship exit, Venus was seen training to make a quick return to the court.
However, joining her for a quick session was her 70-year-old father, Richard Williams. It shocked fans to see the veteran make his way around the court. Surprising fans, Venus revealed in her comments how Papa Williams joins her for “every practice session.”
