While everyone is gearing up for the Thanksgiving dinner, Coco Gauff decided to arrange it exclusively for her cousins. The cousins gathered, celebrated, and dined, just like any other family does. However, things went a bit awry on social media, when a fan questioned Coco Gauff’s cooking prowess.

Gauff shared a video on her Instagram account where her cousins introduced themselves and talked about the Thanksgiving exchange they bought. Gauff also featured in the video as she shared her food. The former American Open champion said, “My name is Coco, and I’m the host. And I made sweet potato pie and banana bread. And I bought a honey-baked ham and Bud’s chicken.”

While it’s impressive that Gauff is a master at both tennis and cooking, her cooking skills failed to impress a fan. And they took a jibe at the World No.3. The fan with username, lenon705, said, “Coco. You know you can’t cook. Your staff made that for you……”

However, Gauff didn’t take it lying down, as she clapped the cocky fan back with a fiery response. She said, “@lenon705 you don’t even know me. Lol and what staff? all I made was pie and banana bread. It’s really not that hard 😂.” Rightly so, Gauff in her introduction mentioned what she made and what she bought.

Moreover, it wasn’t the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Gauff explained her special edition when one fan (Aisha McDonald) questioned about baked beans during Thanksgiving. She said, “Yes, it’s not traditional Thanksgiving food, but it was just us cousins and everyone was told to make what they think they could make well. Plus, I love baked beans and would eat them any time!” It was just a fun-loving cousin gathering on the account of Thanksgiving.

Gauff ended the 2024 season on a high note, with the WTA Finals title, after facing a slump during the Olympics and the US Open. The World No.3 defeated Qinwen Zheng, in a 3-set thriller. The busy season certainly reaped benefits for the American star, as she made huge additions to her earnings. Gauff made $27.1 Million this year according to Forbes. Of this, $7.1 Mn came from her winnings, and $20Mn from endorsements.

For the unversed, Odom was also involved with sports during his time. He was associated with Baseball for some time and made a name for himself at Delray Beach American Little League.  Moreover, Gauff’s Granddad has been running initiatives over the years, to make sports accessible to all. And he is proud of his granddaughter’s achievement. Ahead of the US Open, he posted a snippet in support of Gauff with a sweet caption, “Look at the new COCO SHIRT… PIZZA in New York..”

Coco Gauff certainly has a supportive family, that doesn’t shy away from showing their love and adoration for each other. Thanksgiving would be special for the WTA Finals champion, after all the struggle she went through this season. She would be looking to spend some more quality time with her family in the off-season, before she gets ready for the new season in a few weeks.
