Collins and Sakkari’s heated verbal argument
The whole incident started in the second round of the match when the form of Australian Open finalist had to return the ball into play before it was called out as Sakkari. And in frustration, she threw the ball into the crowd, however, the Greek star was quick to issue an apology it wasn’t ready to let go of the act and pointed the problem out to the chair umpire to take action.
In defense of herself, the 28-year-old tennis pro said that the 34th-ranked player told her to keep her mouth quiet even though she hadn’t hit anyone. While this was too much for the former third-ranked tennis player, she lashed out at what was her opponent’s issue. The verbal disputes ceased when the officers did not respond, but the 29-year-old opponent may not be ready to let this go.
