In a recent video, rising tennis star Qinwen Zheng shared her heartfelt inspiration drawn from tennis icon Li Na’s remarkable achievements. Reflecting on the confidence that she gained by watching the Chinese tennis pro, she said, “Li Na won her first grand slam, and I started thinking, oh, Asia Player can also do something good in tennis.”

The young athlete expressed how watching Li Na win her first grand slam gave birth to her aspirations. She mentioned, “It put a little seed in my heart that I also wanted to do it. And I want to try to be like her, you know, and even better.”
Zheng’s revelation not only gave the reason behind her admiration for the former Chinese pro but also explained why every other Asian tennis player carries an affinity to see Li Na. Besides this, Zheng also expressed her excitement recently when she met her idol for the first time at the AO.

Talking about the advice she received from Li Na, Zheng said, “Yeah. She said to me don’t think too much, just keep it simple. I think that’s right now what I need to do as well, yeah.”
