After the end of her journey in the US Open, Pegula spoke to the media. However, there was something strange that Pegula did. She sipped on a can of Heineken Lagar during the press conference.

Pegula later revealed that she was having the Heineken can for a specific reason. As she had to urinate for a routine doping test, that she had to go through later. “I like the Heineken,” a reporter quipped. Pegula responded: “I’m trying to pee for doping. Although it does help ease the loss!”
Interestingly, the last two times she lost in the quarterfinal, her opponent went on to win the title. In the Australian Open, she lost against now retired Ashleigh Barty. She later won the Australian Open.
Similarly, she lost to Iga Swiatek in the French Open and the polish ended her campaign with the title. This time it was Swiatek again. It will be interesting to see if the trend continues.
