Serena is also a fashion icon and has close friends from the film industry, like Beyonce and Gigi Hadid. The latter once expressed her excitement about playing doubles together with Serena.

Gigi Hadid once appeared on ‘The Tonight Show’ starring Jimmy Fallon, where she described her excitement in playing together with her friend, Serena. She had teamed up with the tennis legend to play in the Mario Tennis Aces tournament, hosted by IMG, for the nonprofit organization Feeding America.

Further, talking about this, Hadid said, “I’m going to play a “Mario Tennis” charity tournament. And my doubles partner is Serena Williams, who is such a great friend. And I’m her biggest fan. I’ve watched her play so much. And we’re going to play doubles together!”

Moreover, she went on to add, “We’re playing controller version. But the first night I played, I practiced on swing mode and fully pulled my entire arm. I was training so hard.”

The American legend’s hopes of winning a record-equaling 24th Grand Slam title ended after she lost her third round match against Ajla Tomljanovic. The match lasted over three hours in the Arthur Ashe stadium and Serena gave everything, but couldn’t overpower the Australian star.
