Who is not a fan of Twitter owner, Elon Musk? There might be plenty but one among them is tennis star, Martina Navratilova. She is quite an avid opponent of the business tycoon. Recently, Twitter’s dig at calling NPR, National Public Radio, a “state-affiliated media” stirred up a debate. However, when facts were laid down, Musk found faults even with that and that has led Navratilova to take a dig at him.
After commercializing the Twitter platform, the Tesla CEO is not afraid to create more controversy. Even after clarifications were made, his response has brought criticism from the tennis star. This seems quite controversial after his business benefitted to the tune of $4.9 billion in government subsidies.

The moment Elon Musk took over Twitter’s reins, things have not quite worked in his favor. Instead, we saw Musk and the social media company get embroiled in various controversies.
The recent one is when Twitter called NPR, National Public Radio a “state-affiliated media”. However, when NPR rebelled against the move, it changed the designation to a “government-funded” media outlet.
Consequently, when NPR retorted against it, he gave a two-word reply which irked a lot of people, including Martina Navratilova. He tweeted, “Defund NPR”. Navratilova, like many others, has found this move ‘petty’.
She stated, “Petty beyond belief.”

If various news outlets, stating that Musk’s business is supported by government subsidies, are to be believed, then the demand to defund NPR seems quite ironic from the Tesla CEO. All these things have made Navratilova question her presence on Twitter.
When Must bought Twitter, a fan asked Navratilova if she was going to stay on the platform or not. A crisp two-word answer, “For now” denoted that her commitment to the platform is wavering.
