Despite hanging up her racket in 2022, Serena Williams is still in the thick of things. Post retirement, she’s indulged herself with business, fashion, sports teams’ ownership, and even movie production. Her accomplishments earned her a place in TIME magazine’s list of 100 most influential people in the world. “I’ve given my whole life to tennis, and I would gladly give another two years if I had time. But it’s nice to do something different,” she said, reacting to it. But she has hardly got time to celebrate! Serena’s commitments keep her stuck on the computer, sending emails and whatnot. And hey, too much screen time can be annoying for anyone; Serena is no exception. But fortunately, the 23-time GS champion just managed to get her ‘me time’ to bask in her TIME100 glory.

Serena took to her IG and shared a string of stories on Thursday. Guess what she was doing? Typing on her laptop to get the day’s work done. However, the former WTA pro then revealed a reason for her excitement. A star-studded gala in NYC was waiting for her! “I’m working, I’m sending emails, and I’m multitasking coz I’m getting ready for another TIME 100 gala. So really excited to get there, but I still have work to do, so let me get back to this”, she said.

Cut to the next clip, and Serena could be seen flaunting a special gala look. She was wearing an elegant black outfit. Before entering the event, she also took a funny jab at herself, writing, “Walking to TIME 100 gala. No more computer.”

Speaking of the annual gala, it took place inside the N.Y.C. concert hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center. Apart from Williams, other celebs at the event included the likes of Blake Lively, Snoop Dogg, and Demi Moore. Not only these, there were more!

Stars like Scarlett Johansson and musician Ed Sheeran were also present. The latter, in fact, put on a stunning performance, too, as Williams revealed in a brief clip. Serena could also be seen interacting with Johansson as they smiled at each other. And well, as usual, a generous Serena posed for the cameras as well.

But amid all of this, Williams showed off her fun side, too. In one of the clips, she could be seen singing a popular children’s nursery rhyme, ‘Itsy Bitsy Spider.’ Yes, you read that right. However, Serena gave it her own touch as she showed some dazzling moves to go with it. It was simply hilarious to watch her enjoying her ‘me time’ at the gala.

Finding moments for herself has been a tough task for Williams lately. Especially after embracing motherhood. She gave birth to Olympia in 2017 and then welcomed Adira in 2023. Yes she’s “obsessed” with them, but looking after two kids is not easy.

Just days ago, Serena Williams had to make a sacrifice to ensure her daughters slept well. She had to get rid of her own comfort. In a post on X, she wrote, “I am somehow being squished by a 7-year-old and a 1-year-old…. We have a big bed, but I think I am their heater…I don’t have the heart to move them, so I just won’t sleep.”

A few days later, Williams shared another post on social media. And this time, she revealed her dilemma to strike a balance between motherhood and her ‘me time’. “I’m in my car…. my Navigator. To be exact, I’ve got the Massage seats on. I’m sadly hiding from my kid. Today is a holiday and no school. 🙈🙈 Judge away, I don’t care, I need 10 mins.” Well, motherly duties can take a toll from time to time. It’s pretty normal.

But you know what? A mother is a mother at the end of the day. Despite such hardships, Williams always tries to ensure she is spending ample time with her daughters even through a busy schedule. Remember how she juggled between her performance and daughter Adira at the Super Bowl back in February? In a behind-the-scenes clip on her IG account, she revealed, “In between meetings, I ran, took Adira to the zoo, and then I’m gonna go back to the office. Just a day in the life.”

Later, the mother-daughter duo also went to the oceanside for relaxation. Sharing the cute moment on Instagram again, Mama Williams wrote, “My mini mini Adira Ohanian wanted to take a dip in the ocean. I could not say no.”

Fans often get a glimpse of Serena’s bonding time with her daughters through her social media posts, and they would like it to continue. It’s an adorable family, isn’t it?
