Serena Williams: a name that screams excellence and resilience. She dominated tennis courts and built an unrivaled legacy, and now, even off the court, she’s doing what she does best—breaking boundaries. Since stepping away from competitive tennis in 2022, the 23-time Grand Slam champ has been wearing multiple hats: entrepreneur, investor, mom, and now, golf team owner. Yep, Serena’s diving into the Tomorrow Golf League (TGL), and it’s as ‘wild’ as it sounds.

The TGL, co-founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, is revolutionizing the way golf is played. It’s got high-tech simulators, hyped-up live audiences, and fast-paced team matches that completely flip golf’s usual slow-and-steady vibe. The 23-time-Grand Slam champion co-owns the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC) alongside her sister Venus Williams and husband Alexis Ohanian. She recently attended a TGL event on 14th January as her team LAGC played against Jupiter Links GC and shared her thoughts on the exciting venture.

In an interview with ESPN, the American veteran tennis player said, “It’s so exciting to be here as a team owner and just get a different look at things.” Talking about the new walkouts that TGL has introduced to golf, she further commented, “It’s so wild. It’s something you see a little bit in tennis or all the time in basketball, right? We don’t really see it in golf. Actually, we never see that in golf. It’s so good to see their personalities and see them shine as golfers, as they are.”

As for Serena Williams’ golf skills? Let’s just say she’s keeping it real. “No, but I did hit last Sunday, and that counts,” she laughed. It’s her daughter Olympia who seems to be stealing the show on the course, though. “My daughter plays golf. One was playing, and one was rolling around on her back, I am not kidding,” Serena revealed, capturing a very relatable parenting moment.

For Alexis Ohanian, Serena’s husband and co-owner of LAGC, this isn’t just a business venture—it’s family. “To wit, my wife Serena [Williams] and I have enjoyed as Olympia’s taken a liking to golf. This is another piece of the legacy I’m building for my family and I hope this team can become a part of many families’ lives, too,” Alexis shared in a previous interview. Their 7-year-old daughter, Olympia, has shown a real interest in golf, which makes their investment in the TGL all the more meaningful. Their youngest daughter, Adira, is only 1, but the Ohanian-Williams family is clearly laying the groundwork for a future where sports — and TGL — are a key part of their legacy.

But it’s not just business that Williams is balancing. As one of the most successful athletes in the world, she’s also a mom of two, and she’s making motherhood look effortless.

So, my girls always say that I’m not normal and I didn’t get a normal life,” Serena admitted with a laugh.
