There are a lot of controversies surrounding the new paddle sport ever since some of the former tennis players entered its courts. In the process, American tennis legends like Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, Michael Chang, and John McEnroe have also become a part of the upcoming tournament, Pickleball Slam.

However, some of the big names in the tennis community have not been with their decision to enter the realms of the fast-growing racket game in the US. The list also includes Serena Williams‘ former coach, Rennae Stubbs as she recently slammed the American tennis greats for participating in the paddle sport for money.

Serena Williams’ former coach expresses her opinion on pickleball

Rennae Stubbs has been quite vocal on her online platforms when it comes to slamming the pickleball franchise. There are a lot of investments being made in the fast-growing racket game as a separate tournament, Pickleball Slam has been established in the US.

Further, a lot of tennis fans are already excited upon hearing the news of some of the American tennis greats taking part in the pickleball event.

Taking note, Serena Williams’ former coach expressed her disappointment over the same on Twitter. She said a lot of crypto and NFT investors are putting their money on some of the tennis legends to persuade them to enter the courts of pickleball. In the process, she also slammed the American tennis greats for getting lured by the prize.

Stubbs said, “Pickleball (NFT/Crypto bros) throwing shit tons of money at some of the greats of the tennis game to give it credibility. They all think it’s a joke and embarrassing but they’re happily taking their money.”

Stubbs has always been against the pickleball franchise

This is not the first time when the American tennis legend’s former coach used her platform to shed light on the recent investments in the new racket game. On Twitter, Stubbs previously made her stance clear on pickleball by expressing her contempt for the sport.

However, the Hall of Famer’s blunt remarks about the game was met with a cheeky response from the bad boy of tennis. To fire back at the Australian tennis coach, Nick Kyrgios reminded her about other investments made by notable figures in the sporting community including LeBron James.
