‘King Richard’, as expected, is turning out to be a blockbuster. A biographical drama on the lives of Venus and Serena Williams, the movie has garnered praise from critics and audiences alike.
It tells the story of how Richard Williams trained and raised his daughters, Venus and Serena Williams, from his perspective.
Additionally, the sisters are the executive producers of the movie. According to them, the only way their story could be told was through the eyes of their father.

Venus and Serena Williams celebrate Golden Globes nominations
Obviously, since the movie has been in Oscar conversations since its inception, nominations for the Golden Globes were a no-brainer. It comes as no surprise that ‘King Richard’ is contending for four Golden Globes.

Serena Williams reposted ‘King Richard’s nomination for Best Motion Picture by the Golden Globes on her Instagram story. She congratulated everyone, saying “Huge congratulations to everyone involved ⚡”.
Additionally, Venus too, posted about the nomination on her Instagram, saying, “Congrats to the entire @KingRichardFilm team. This is surreal.” Clearly, the two sisters are overjoyed.

Not only this but leading actor Will Smith, too, secured a nomination for Best Performance in the Drama category. Venus and Serena Williams reposted his nomination on their stories as well, celebrating his success.

Serena wrote a celebratory “YES!” alongside Will Smith’s nomination, tagging him. Venus did the same, captioning the repost with, “What an amazing group of nominees. Congrats @WillSmith✨✨✨”
The movie is also contending for Best Original Score and Supporting Actress
The nominations don’t end here, as the movie has also been nominated for Best Original Score, by Beyonce Knowles. Titled ‘Be Alive’, the original song is a riveting work of art that reaches the soul.
Furthermore, Aunjanue Ellis, the actress who played the sisters’ mother Oracene Williams is running for Best Supporting Actress. Venus congratulated her on her nomination.
“This is really special,” she said. “Aunjanue (Ellis) really captured the essence of my mom,” Venus said.
