Imagine waking up with the excitement of witnessing your favorite tennis star at a WTA Masters 1000 event. Energizing, right? But what if the most renowned streaming platform ditches you at the wrong time, minutes after the match begins? This is not something that the American fans have experienced for the first time with Tennis Channel. As each fan had eyes on the American hope Jessica Pegula who is matched up against Aryna Sabalenka for the Cincinnati Open final, the renowned broadcasting network lagged again.

During today’s Cincinnati Open women’s singles final between Jessica Pegula and Aryna Sabalenka, Tennis Channel Plus subscribers encountered a major disappointment when they discovered that the live broadcast of the match was missing from their dashboard. Fans were particularly eager to watch Pegula, the 30-year-old who is on a remarkable 9-match winning streak after her victory at the Canadian Open. This added more layers of anticipation to the ongoing showdown.

Tennis Channel Plus is a standalone streaming service that costs nearly $109.99 per year and promises to offer live and on-demand matches, exclusive tournament coverage, and original programming. Unlike the regular Tennis Channel, it doesn’t require a cable subscription and allows users to stream up to two matches simultaneously. However, not all live matches are available on the service due to legal rights restrictions.

Jessica Pegula has lately emerged as one of the most discussed WTA pros in the US. With her commendable victory at the Canadian Open, she not only added a title to her portfolio but also became the center of attraction for countless followers of the sport. However, as soon as her final showdown at the Cincinnati Masters began, Aryna Sabalenka started sliding points to her bucket. While the moment was intense and fans didn’t even get to catch up with the live broadcast, they vented out frustration at the Tennis Channel over social media platform X.

A fan posted about the unavailability of Tennis Channel on his television. Being an active follower of the sport, he introduced himself as a subscriber of TC+. “Very disappointed as usual that even though I pay for the TC+ version I can’t see the match live,” he complained. A monthly TC+ subscription is equivalent to $9.17. Despite the regular expense, the broadcaster was unable to connect fans with the highly anticipated showdown.
