American tennis great Venus Williams is not having a great year. The 42-year-old didn’t win any of the matches she played this year. The last time she appeared on the court was at the US Open 2022. While spending her time away from the court, Venus recently interviewed her current coach, Eric Hechtman. The duo recalled an interesting incident that happened with Hechtman when they went out in New York.

In the US Open, Venus participated in both singles and doubles legs of the tournament. After suffering a crushing defeat in her first-round singles match, she also partnered with her sister Serena Williams to play doubles for one last time. However, the sister duo ended up losing their first-round match.
When Eric Hechtman’s car got towed
Talking to her current coach and old friend, Eric, Venus remembered the time they went out partying in New York. But unfortunately, Eric’s car got towed. Explaining exactly what happened, Eric said, “I had to go to Hialeah to tow shop. It was crazy.”
Venus further asked, “why did they take the car”
Eric replied, “An edge of the tire was on where the bus pulls in. Parking spot and it was on the line, so they had a picture of it.”
Unhappy with the reason, Williams said, “That’s just petty. What person at 2 am has time to patrol your car and not patrol crime? Like there’s real crime.”
Venus Williams on her comeback plans
After Serena’s retirement, many people thought Venus will also join her sister quietly. However, the 42-year-old will not give up tennis right now. After a string of poor performances, the 42-year-old has decided to take out some time and prepare hard to come back later.
