Reilly Opelka opened up on Venus Williams and Serena Williams

In a recent talk, World No. 20 made a few statements regarding the Williams sisters. He believes Venus is a very ambitious player and gets “sick” even at the thought of losing. Furthermore, he even stated that without Venus, Serena would not have been the greatest woman player of all time.

He said, “She’s insanely competitive – as fierce as there’s ever been. Absolutely cannot tolerate losing – it makes her sick to think about it. She doesn’t even reflect on her wins. She stays in the moment. If it weren’t for Serena she’d be the greatest woman player of all time. Then again, there’s no Serena without Venus.

“So you almost have to give it to them both.”

Opelka applauded Venus’ determination and focus towards the game. Subsequently, he said that he has learned a lot from the seven-time Grand Slam champion. Opelka also added that he loves her sense of humor and enjoys spending time with her.
