

Simona Halep, the right-handed Romanian tennis ace, is one of the best players in WTA. She has won 2 Grand Slam titles and has a record of holding the no.1 ranking for 64 weeks. Further, she is one of the few players who gave a hard time to 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams.
Speaking of Serena, her former coach Patrick Mouratoglou has joined hands with Halep. The Romanian assigned Patrick the position of coach after participating in the Sunshine Double. Since then, he has been traveling by her side.
This week, the duo were in Italy trying their luck in the red dirt at Rome. However, as Simona failed to secure a win against Collins on Friday, they walked out of the event in disappointment.

Simona Halep Shares Her Feeling on Instagram
Simona gave a kick start to the tournament by defeating the 32-year-old French tennis professional Alizé Cornet in straight sets. However, she got out-muscled by American tennis ace Danielle Collins in the second round.
Even though the Romanian failed to have a run till the last round of the tournament, Halep didn’t lose hope. Therefore, in order to inform and thank her fans, she shared a picture of her alongside coach Mouratoglou and wrote, “Throughout all my career I fought for what I believed in and what I wanted to achieve.”

“I will always do so through the ups and downs. The unconditional support that I receive from many of you means the world to me. Thank you, the fight goes on,” Halep added.
Who Is Halep’s Idol?
Simona Halep recently spoke about the person who inspired her to become a tennis professional. She admitted admiring the seven-time Grand Slam champion Justine Henin while growing up.

“She always been my idol. When I was growing up, I was actually copying her, I have to admit.”

“I’ve also copied her movement because she always had strong legs and the way that she played very close to the baseline. I tried to copy that, but it was not perfect,” concluded the Romanian star.

Although Halep has given a sub-par performance in the clay courts at the Italian Open, her fans are still holding hopes for Roland Garros as the former world no.1 had a decent run in the Madrid Open and it took Ons Jabeur, the eventual champion, to make her walk out of the tournament.
