Serena Williams is back! The American legend notched up her maiden singles victory on her comeback, defeating Nuria Parrizas Diaz of Spain in the first round of the National Bank Open in Toronto. Further, it was an impressive performance by Serena, who dominated the match right from the very start and gave her opponent little breathing space.
During the match, her husband, Alexis Ohanian, and daughter Olympia cheered for her from the stands. As she tasted success on the tennis court, Serena’s daughter was spotted celebrating her mother’s impressive victory.

The Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, took to Twitter to share a video of Olympia celebrating her mother’s victory in Toronto. Alexis captioned the video, “That’s our girl!” The four-year-old was all smiles as she gave a few daps on Serena’s hand.

In a match lasting just under two hours on the hard court in Toronto, Serena got the better of her Spanish opponent in straight sets 6-3, 6-4. It was a morale-boosting victory for the American legend after her heart-breaking loss at Wimbledon. In the grass-court Grand Slam tournament, she went down fighting against Harmony Tan in a three-set thriller.

The former World Number 1 had an interesting take on her daughter attending her match. Talking about it, she said, “I looked over and I saw her in the middle of the first set, and I was like: Oh my God, why is she here? And then I went into mom mode. Like, does she have on her sunscreen?”

Further, she went on to add, “I was like: OK Serena, should I say something? Take her upstairs to the suite? Because she’s never been to my match.”
