When talking about the GOAT of tennis, Serena Williams is definitely one of the few. Serena beat Steffi Graf’s record after almost two decades. Not far behind Serena Williams is her older sister, Venus Williams. Although Venus has 7 grand slam wins behind her sister’s 23, her game had class. Proper guidance is the key factor to reaching the stage Venus and Serena did in their careers. But according to Venus, the best piece of advice she received was from her own sister.
The Williams sisters have faced each other several times in their careers. 28 matches in total, with Serena having the advantage of 17-11. One of the semifinal bouts in 1999 saw Serena facing off against Venus.

Serena Williams piece of wisdom for Venus Williams
Venus, 37, recalls the advice given to her by Serena some time before their semifinal bout. Serena said since they have to show up anyway, they might as well compete properly.

“I asked her, ‘So, Serena, are you nervous about tomorrow? And she’s like, ‘No, I’m not nervous because we have to show up. And since we have to show up, why not compete?” Venus said in a Q&A with CNBC.
“And that was the best advice I ever got in my life.” she said.
She also added that she didn’t follow the advice at crucial times and that was mistake.
“Sadly I didn’t listen to it at the time. That was one of my biggest failures, and it was my biggest lesson.” she explained.
Venus also opened up about the nature of her relationship with her sister. She told CNBC both are very protective of each other.
Venus stupefied by sister’s antics at new mansion
The 23 time grand slam winner recently gave the world a tour of her sister’s house. She uploaded a video showcasing all parts of her house and the trophy cabinet.

She showed all of Venus’ trophies including her Wimbledon win and the doubles trophy the two won together.
Venus replied to the video on Instagram with the caption exclaiming the need for security at her house.

Further in the video, Serena confessed to stealing stuff saying that’s how she is. She also used some cosmetic products and applied lipstick from her sister’s collection.
The two seem to be very close and protective of each other. The bond between the two sisters continues to grow.
