Serena Williams at the ESPYs—Is she the greatest female athlete of all time?

There is hardly anything that Serena Williams would do and not excel at unbelievably. Be it her entrepreneurial venture with WYN Beauty or the promotion of her ESPN documentary, Williams has shown that she has the Midas touch. Yesterday, she hosted the ESPYs Awards at Dolby Theatre and showcased the witty side of her personality. Not only did Serena entertain the audience but received compliments from the legends of her former professional field.

On Tennis Channel’s podcast, commentator Brett Haber and former tennis stars Lindsey Davenport and Jim Courier discussed Serena Williams and her family’s presence at the show. They praised the former Olympic gold-medalist WTA star’s incredible talent for being a perfect host. Mentioning Venus Williams too as a shining star of the show, Davenport said, “That was awfully impressive. To be able to host that show and really do a great job with some of the jokes and go in and out. It was also great to see Venus there and she participated in quite a bit of the show but definitely multitalented Serena.” She was then reminded, “Her husband Alexis and daughter Olympia on the red carpet with her at times as well.

The 23 Grand Slam winner was excited to embark on a new role at the event where she has bagged 12 awards previously. Just a day before the show, Williams shared her feelings on Instagram sharing a post. “Guess who’s hosting the Espys on @espn this year??? MEEEEE and I am so excited. And nervous 😬” she wrote while sharing her stylish look from her office in a stylish black bodycon dress with an oversized denim jacket. Not only did she share her excitement but called it a “dream come true” moment for her.

Following Davenport’s compliment, Williams has worked hard to make sure she keeps the charm of the ESPYS event intact. In fact, this former world’s number-one has successfully impressed people with the other side of personality that knows how to entertain people with light-hearted jokes. Not to forget, the interesting and funny banter between the sisters that brought the audience the moment of the Australian Open 2017 finals.

Serena Williams’ big sister Venus Williams attended LA’s Dolby Theatre to cheer for her sister at the ESPYS Awards yesterday. Donned in a stylish black suit dress, Venus Williams started a funny banter with her sister when Serena Williams said, “ I won with my daughter in my belly.” Williams’ elder sister couldn’t miss the moment and replied saying, “That was 2svs 1 that wasn’t fair.”

This hilarious banter between the famous tennis sisters not only warmed the audience’s hearts but fuelled the show’s spirit to its fullest. The 23x Grand Slam winner’s iconic moment with her elder sister at ESPYS became one of the headliners for the next day. Lindsey Davenport’s compliment for Serena Williams’ ESPYS performance also added more points to why she should be called a legend. After being the star of the show as a winner twelve times, Williams presented herself in a new avatar and snatched equal limelight showing that she is still one of the iconic athletic figures in the world.
