After 3 years of retirement, the Russian star recently revealed that she might have found it difficult to deal with one of the present top 10 tennis players on the WTA tour, i.e. if she was still active on the Tour.

Earlier this year, Netflix treated tennis enthusiasts to a docu-series that focused on the lives of several current generation tennis stars. The retired Russian player was also in the Netflix docuseries ‘Breakpoint’, where she praised the Tunisian star and 2022 Wimbledon finalist, Ons Jabeur. While commenting about her tennis match, the 35-year-old stated that it would be a ‘nightmare’ to play against her, looking at her style of play.
She said, “When I look at Ons I think, that I wouldn’t have matched up well against her. She would have been a nightmare to play against. Thank god I am retired because that slice, oh God. I’d have nightmares about it.”

Moreover, Sharapova was in awe of the Tunisian tennis player. Jabeur hails from Tunisia, and faced a lot of difficulties to become a well-known tennis player. However, this is not the first time when the former world number one talked about her opponent. Earlier before, when the tennis player was quite active on the tennis court, there was this one tennis legend whom she considered as the most intimidating opponent.
