Barbora Krejcikova won’t stop teasing her fans! As she continues her brilliance at the SW19, the player also has her social media game on point. One fan wasted no time in asking about her personal life as they wrote, “Are you and Pavel a couple?” What followed was a cheeky reply from Krejcikova. “What do you think?” the player questioned.

The curious fan replied, “Yes because love always wins.” Once again, the player had a very cryptic reply and used a GIF that said, “I guess we’ll never know now…will we?”

At SW19, the player is already doing great. After the 2021 French Open champion doused Danielle Collins and Jelena Ostapenko, she shut down the 2022 Wimbledon Champion Elena Rybakina 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Krejcikova will play her first Wimbledon final after causing the biggest upset of this tournament. This triumph came after Krejcikova faltered in the QF of the 2024 AO and round 1 of the French Open earlier this year. Although they have known each other since childhood, Motl started working with Krejcikova as her hitting partner in August last year.

He had already finished his studies in psychology and sports management at the American University of Tennessee. Motl was a student-athlete. And he first met Krejcikova during a children’s tournament. Soon, they started training together and kept in touch.

What does Pavel Motl admire about Barbora Krejcikova?

“She’s (Krejcikova) a real fighter, but she can be stubborn. Sometimes it’s hard to work with such a character, sometimes it’s easy.” Motl said about the player he guides. However, he revealed that he enjoys working with her because she’s “very smart” and “very experienced.”

He believes he fits in really well with her, but he doesn’t want to call himself a coach exactly because, for him, tennis is a lifelong journey whether he is a coach or a player.

They have known each other since they were 8 years old but how did he and Krejcikova team up and what role does he play in her team? Replying to this question during an interview with the Tennis World, Pavel Motl said, “My role is such that I try to help her with tennis. We consult together on tennis matters, but it is definitely not a cooperation on a coach-player basis.“

So when she stopped working with Kartus, she decided to trust Motl with the responsibility, even though he was inexperienced. Though not typical of professional tennis, he has experience at the University level.
