Hopefully this injury will never bother me again and I’ll be able to play the next Grand Slam, which is my favorite one. I really want to do well there,” Aryna Sabalenka said after pulling out from the Wimbledon Championships earlier this year. She suffered a shoulder injury during the Berlin Open. Although she tried her best to be ready for this mega event in London, she claimed, “Unfortunately my shoulder is not cooperating.” However, after that, we saw her making a strong comeback by winning 3 titles in the next few months. She finished the year as world no.1, and currently, she’s preparing for the next season. However, amid all these, there is a sudden concern about her fitness.

What happened to Aryna Sabalenka? Well, recently the Belarusian tennis star shared a small video clip on her IG stories. In that story, she was seen getting some treatment on her shoulders. She even tagged, Nicholas DeLisi in that post. For those who are unaware, DeLisi is the Doctor of Physical Therapy on the WTA Tour. Has the injury resurfaced yet again? A fan even shared that post on X, with the caption, “Jump scare on Instagram 🥲 I had forgotten about a certain shoulder problem, and now I’m terrified again. Our Number 1 better be fully healthy for the Australian Swing 🙏🏼🙏🏼.

If we take a look at numbers, Aryna Sabalenka has played almost 70 matches this season! She was last seen in action at the WTA Finals in Riyadh where she could only make it to the SF. Now, seeing her getting treatment on her shoulders is really a worrying sign for her fans. She won 4 titles this season, and that includes two Grand Slam triumphs (AO and the US Open). So, overall, despite having some injury concerns, it was quite an extraordinary season for Sabalenka.

After pulling out from Wimbledon, we saw her claiming, “I never pull out from the tournament because of … injury. Even if I was injured, I was still playing. I was still struggling, but being able to play. It was my first experience like that.” It was the first time she had missed a Grand Slam tournament due to an injury since 2017. Fans perhaps would now be keen to see her in full form before the 2025 AO.

Just a few days ago, we saw Aryna Sabalenka revealing her off-season plans and then we saw her spending some time with her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis at the tennis court in Miami. Perhaps this could be a sigh of relief for her fans at the moment. What is Aryna Sabalenka’s next mission, though?
