Aryna Sabalenka's mom, Julia, is stealing the spotlight—Is she the real star of the family?

We guess Aryna Sabalenka didn’t want to give her mother Juliya another shot at roasting the now three-time Grand Slam champion. After Aryna successfully defended her Australian Open title in January with a 6-3, 6-2 win against Zheng Qinwen, apparently, her mother deemed having two of the same trophies, which are titled twins back home, was “boring.” Juliya had a special request, “Can you just work on the other slams?” Aryna did exactly that!

On Saturday, at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, the Belarusian avenged the 2023 final loss to Coco Gauff on Arthur Ashe Stadium with a resounding win over Jessica Pegula (7-5, 7-5). The American reached the finals without losing a single set this tournament, barring the semi-final match against her Czech opponent, Karolína Muchová—a feat that the Belarusian kept the momentum on till the end of the tournament. The No. 2 seed had her fair moments of momentum swings against a No. 6 seed putting Sabalenka at unease with her return game.

Mama Sabalenka would be finally glad to see her trophy room having a do-over with a Tiffany & Co. trophy. Sabalenka’s sigh of relief to avenge last year’s loss was apparently clear when she said, “Finally I got this beautiful trophy, it means a lot, it’s been a very difficult two weeks. I’m sure that one day you’re going to get one — well, not one, maybe more,” she said to Pegula. “I remembered all the tough losses in the past here,” Sabalenka said.

The Belarusian WTA star paved her way through the ups and downs of competition and is finally looking to have reclaimed her dominant form, all the while achieving another historic feat that made her only the second woman besides Angelique Kerber (2016) to win both hard-court slams in the same year since Martina Hingis did that in 1997. However, it looks like she has yet to win over a match beyond the court. Her mother Juliya Sabalenka managed to take the champion down on at least a few grounds.

The 26-year-old’s social media game started to shoot up as she became the brand ambassador of her boyfriend Georgios Frangulis’ brand Oakberry. While a series of posts grabbed the attention of fans to make them believe that she was the most charming WTA star, Juliya entered the competition to show who the real star was.

Aryna Sabalenka not only misses her late father Sergey but also regards him as her “biggest motivation”. However, his absence never really became overbearing to the WTA star, as her mother always made sure to expand her boundaries and provide her with all the love and backing needed to be focused. Despite that, a lighthearted beauty game was unleashed on social media platforms, bringing the mother and daughter in a line of competition.

In her final match of the US Open against Jessica Pegula, Aryna reigned supreme with a straight-set victory (7-5, 7-5). At times, Pegula looked as if she had no answer for Sabalenka’s powerful serve and forehand. And why not? After all, Sabalenka has the fastest average forehand speed of 129 km/h out of all the men and women competing at the US Open. However, that dominance looks to have been held off by Juliya off the court.

Aryna Sabalenka has pumped up her followers with her victory at the US Open. Reflecting similar vibes in the comment section, one fan wrote, “Classy like her beautiful and queen 👸 daughter.” Interestingly, the mother does not give her daughter beauty goals only. She drives her to attain professional goals as well. Aryna has shared a rather funny incident about that after she won the Australian Open this year.

She has revealed, her mom teases her that her 2 Australian Open trophies look ‘boring’ sitting next to each other & she needs to work on the other Slams! “I’m like mom, what an easy request, thanks for that – you could have just appreciated these two, they weren’t easy to get,” Aryna had jokingly said to Indian Wells Press. Looks like the mother will be finally content! But fans can not get enough of the Sr. Sabalenka.

As soon as the fans came across the picture in her serene Instagram post, they not only found it adorable but also extended comments to prove it. A fan, acknowledging the fact that The Tiger’s mother looked pretty in the picture, wrote, “Gorgeously Mesmerizing!🔥🔥👏👏”.
