AI is slowly but surely taking over the world. What generative AI tools like ChatGPT can already do is quite mind-boggling in terms of resolving complex queries and creating content in a matter of moments. As the tools are further tweaked and upgraded, there’s literally no limit to what they can do. Unsurprisingly, AI is being vehemently backed by several prominent investors and entrepreneurs. Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams‘ husband, is one of them.

In a recent tweet, Ohanian shared his experience of using ChatGPT for generating a summary of the first book he wrote and published. To Ohanian’s surprise, the generative AI tool did a remarkable job.

Back in 2013, Ohanian’s book ‘Without Their Permission: How the 21st Century Will Be Made, Not Managed’ was published. The book marked a successful authoring debut for Ohanian. Additionally, it made the top 4 of the Hardcover Business best sellers list of The Wall Street Journal.

In his tweet, Ohanian wrote, “I asked ChatGPT to summarize my first book”. He went on to write, “this is wild, maybe now I should ask it to write a book based on this summary”.

According to Ohanian, if ChatGPT wrote the same book today based on the summary it generated, it would surpass the quality of the original. “I’m convinced the AI would do a better job than I did.

The detailed summary generated by ChatGPT featured a captivating conclusion as well. It focused on the book’s message of creating value, embracing the internet’s power, taking risks, community building, and resilience for modern-day entrepreneurs. Ultimately, it concluded with a statement that underlined how the book can facilitate entrepreneurs in building “successful businesses in the digital age.

The rise of ChatGPT and other AI tools has caused controversy. Right now, there are many who believe that widespread AI adoption can take away human livelihoods. However, Ohanian’s a realist and he understands that AI is still a work in progress. Furthermore, he realizes that without humans, AI doesn’t count for much in its current form.

For instance, around a week ago, Ohanian shared a screenshot of an AI-generated mock email on Twitter. The mock email wrote about Ohanian’s investments in multiple organizations. Unfortunately, instead of naming the organizations, the AI tool simply wrote ‘{company name 1} and {company name 2}’. More importantly, Ohanian’s caption for the post acknowledged the importance of keeping “humans in the loop”.
