Naomi Osaka might have been taking a break to come back to the 2024 Wimbledon Championship in full force but she wasn’t ready to drop her mental health initiatives for athletes. Previously this rising tennis star stepped back from the 2021 French Open due to her issues with anxiety and depression but people didn’t seem to take that well. While the critics are in no chill but to tag her as a “Spoiled brat” or “Diva”, Naomi Osaka took her official X (formerly Twitter) to hit back at those criticisms. Yes, Osaka left her introverted nature to speak about the criticisms openly. Osaka tweeted- “It’s always people with no life talking sh** about others. Like damn, do you want me to give you a job application?”

Naomi Osaka’s statement might appear harsh but it was coming after the several criticisms she faced for speaking up about mental health. Previously, Ukrainian tennis player, Elina Svitolina opened up about her challenges in balancing family, tennis, and motherhood. Considering that women are expected to also ensure household, these female tennis stars facing depression is not a surprising fact, considering they had to prioritize their tennis secondly for childbirth.
