Did you watch Harry and Meghan’s royal documentary streaming on Netflix? In the film, Meghan talks about her first royal experiences before becoming the Duchess of Sussex. However, it feels like the tennis legend Chris Evert is not happy seeing the Duchess of Sussex mock her own curtsy style before learning the royal way.

Chris Evert was one of Wimbledon’s top star names during the 1970s and 1980s. In addition, she has interacted with several members of the royal family and even had the opportunity to have tea with them.

Chris Evert’s fans are not happy with her response

Recently, the tennis legend Chris Evert took to her social media account to share her view on watching Meghan Markle describing her idea of bowing down before meeting the queen for the first time. In the clip, the Duchess of Sussex mocks herself as she didn’t know much about the curtsy before she ever met the royal family. 

With the video, the 18-time Grand Slam champion wrote, “Not cool…..” for laughing over her first curtsy story from the time, she was getting ready to meet Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Harry’s Grandmother for the first time. However, her fans are not happy with her comment and slammed her for not getting the real background of the story.

Some fans asked her to watch the whole episode. A fan wrote, “I have so much respect for you Chrissie. Please don’t fall for this. Watch the whole episode and then if you think is not cool, let’s agree to disagree.” Another fan wrote, “If you watch it in context you will know that she’s taking the piss out of herself.”

While some fans attempted to enlighten her with the clip. Fans wrote, “Did you watch the whole clip? She’s laughing about how she didn’t know how to curtsy”, “Love you, Chrissie, but Markle is just making fun of herself because she didn’t know how to curtsy. This is taken out of context,”, and “What are you saying is not cool? She was talking about how she didn’t know how to curtsy and had to be coached.”

Additionally, some explained the Duchess of Sussex’s side of the story. A fan wrote, “As I understood it Meghan was mocking herself as she had been given no advice on how to curtsy much like Liz Truss. The issue is stacked on two sides. One looking for any reason to make her look bad.”

Evert is a big Harry fan

When Colin Murray and the 18th Grand Slam champion appeared in a podcast in 2021, she expressed her admiration for Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. The American tennis star claimed that she has always admired Prince Harry and will continue to admire him.
